Tales Of Fantasia

...I just found out that there's an anime with a similar title...that's got nothing to do with me XD

This was made for 11tiggers' FF contest and even though I know that it doesn't stand a chance I really enjoyed making this vid...not to mention that I was already wiped off my chair to know that I made it to the semi-finals, I'm very glad to have come so far :D

Now on to the story:
( This is supposed to be the basis for a fictional Role Playing Game involving the eight named main characters)

Once upon a time the world Gaia existed in peaceful harmony. But now it is wrecked by death and destruction...the cause of all this sorrow is one man: Sephiroth.
It all began with the petty greed for power the humans are known to possess...Sephiroth's son Kadaj seeked to kill Rufus Shinra, the president of the conglomerate ShinRa company and practically the unofficial ruler of the world. However, his attempt to get rid of Rufus failed. He survived and hired the skilled mercenary Cloud Strife to dispose of Kadaj. Cloud accepted the job, fought and killed Kadaj, never fearing any consequences. He never thought that the death of his beloved son would drive his father Sephiroth into insanity. Blind from sorrow and the urge for revenge, Sephiroth experiments on himself, turning himself into a creature with powers beyond anything human. With those powers he chases after Cloud to kill him and avenge the death of his son. In the process of looking for him, Sephiroth seizes every chance to plunge the world into chaos, creating the Heartless, summoning Sin and mind-controlling the originally good-natured, but powerful witch Edea.
As he finally encounters Cloud, a fierce battle ensues which Cloud ends up losing. He loses consciousness, but instead of dying, he wakes up at the bar of his childhoodfriend Tifa Lockhart. Together they set out to stop Sephiroth and save the world. On their way, they meet several heroes and heroines who all fight for their own reasons. There is Squall Leonheart, who suspects Sephiroth to be responsible for the death of his parents. Cloud and Tifa come to his aid as his former friend Edea tries to kill him with an ice spell. Yuna, who wants to stop Sin by all means to end the suffering of all people in the world. She joins the group after her home village was destroyed by Sin and the heroes watched her send the deceased. Sora, who tries to protect all that is important to him by fighting the Heartless. The only way to stop them is to defeat Sephiroth. Another one, Vincent Valentine, decides to defy Sephiroth as well after he finds out that he might have been the man who started to conduct experiments on the human kind, thus being responsible for the experiments that turned Vincent into an artificial vampire. Noctis Lucis Caelum also joins the heroes with the intention to fix his past mistake, as he failed in assassinating Sephiroth long ago when he was assigned to do so by a mysterious ShinRa member.
