I am 60 Years old. I heard as a kid from many Maulvies (Non Ahmadi) refered to the wrtings of diiferent books of Islamic Scholars & saints of the past. They thought that the probable time of the appearance of Mehdi was 14th century Hijra. In one Hadith Holy prophet (saw) said that the "Ulema of 14th century odf Islam will be the worst creature under sun". So Mehdi was supposed to come when Muslims fell to the lowest level, which was 14th Century. Lost power & spirituality.
