I removed the last of the interior wood today, pulled a load of rubbish out of the bilge and cleared up.

  • The stuffing box has rings of packing that can be replaced. the tention is adjusted by tightening the gland, and locking it with the lock nut. Can be done in the water but is messy, be better in dry dock.

  • Its a Shame we will never Get to see the finished vessel.

  • Ah, that stuffing box is probably depleated of grease....

Pump abit into it, and the leak should slow or stop altogether....

Stuffing boxing will drip alittle no matter what one does... But the grease acts as the main shaft seal keeping most the water out.
