Carlos Andrés Gómez (Pushcart Prize nominee & 2x International Poetry Slam Champion) performs his poem "What's Genocide?" - inspired by his experiences as a social worker and public school teacher - in front of a sold out crowd in NYC.
In this footage he performs the full, unedited version of his iconic poem, previously aired in an abridged version on the 6th season of HBO's "Russell Simmons Presents Def Poetry" (voted Favorite Poet of his episode by viewers).
Carlos is touring colleges/universities this semester.

Wow--you're lazy...lol.
I'm not bitter--just pointing out that you might do better to raise people's awareness of the Great Crime by putting some effort into writing a song, poem, essay, or op-ed piece instead of whining that somebody else's work didn't meet YOUR standards...you're not a Kardashian, are you?

I reckon you need to start writing poetry about the Armenian Genocide and performing it instead of bitching about why this man didn't include it. His focus is on the now, not the then, and he used the two examples (the Holocaust and Rwanda) to set up the rest of his thesis--probably because most folks know about those two.
I know about the Great Crime, but not all folks (that aren't Armenian) do.
Get writing, ey?

Finally! Give us the opportinuity to open our minds! If we are shielded from the darker side of reality, how can we be ready to face it when the lights are turned out? We can't. I say, finally, someone that can say the things I've been trying to say since I learned that I was being shielded in the first place.
