  • David Irving is the only brilliant historian.

He tells the facts immediately even if it upsets people. Sir Ian Kershaw is a good bloke but even he can't speak his mind, because he knows he will get into hot water, so best for his health if he just slowly talks or one might say, chooses is words very carefully.

  • Irving admitted under oath in a British court that he knowingly - that´s knowingly - misrepresented aspects of concentration camp design in his books (specifically gas chamber door design) - in order to grind his particular ideological axe, which was that no significant genocide took place. British TV actually dramatised the trial some years back. Since then he has been, not to put too fine a point on it, fucked as a serious historian.

Kershaw´s biog is, however, profound and brilliant.

  • @jackle5000 - Irving is brilliant mind but he is also a bitter, antisocial contrarian who admires Hitler and the Third Reich. He's a former member of the IHR, believes in that laughable Leutcher report, and denies the Final Solution. Totally dishonest - the "respectable" face of Holocaust Denial. His is a pariah historian whose is bereft of credibility, and it can easily be proven -> he insists on a "Fuehrer Befehl" for the Holocaust - basic fallacy of historiography. Sorry Jackle.

  • David Irving is the best expert on Hitler not Ian Kershaw.

  • @winstonadolfchurchil How can such an illiterate, ill-informed ignoramus post such comments on one of the foremost historians of the late 20th/early 21st. centuries who is renowned for his research from primary sources. His publications will continue to be read over the years - yours, I suspect, won't! By the way, Churchill has two "L's" and informed comments without a sprinkling of crude anatomical swear words would add more to your argument!

  • Jonah Goldberg could learn a thing or two from this man.

  • Just finished Hitler: Nemesis, an absolutely brilliant and sober study of the man.

  • @MrStonecold69 I thought it to be a good one but focused too much on the Holocaust.

  • ian kershaw is a legend
