Merrill also toured with Davis in a stage production called "The World Of Carl Sandburg," which incorporated readings of the famed poet. I have a Playbill programme for the Broadway production of that play that someone gave me as a gift, but unfortunately Merrill had dropped out of the play by then, leaving Davis to do her "Great White Way" dates with Leif Erickson.

Hmmm, I didn't know Gary Merrill was in the cast of this picture?

Merrill was the fourth (& last) husband of the woman considered by many to be one of the pair of two best actresses in cinema history--Bette Davis (Katherine Hepburn being the other). He also co-starred with Davis in "All About Eve" (one among the AFI's list of top films of all-time), as well "Phone Call From A Stranger" and "Another Man's Poison," the latter a truly well-made & clever, underrated film.

elvis made these movies because he loved his fans and made movies for them. he wanted to be a more serious actor. he felt like he played the same part in every movie but he kept doing it for his fans. and for whoever said he became the disgrace of rock n roll...uh how many thing have you accomplished in life that ammounts to elvis? have u made over 110 gold record? starred in 31 feature movies? had 149 songs in the Billboard Hot 100??? thats just some of the things he has done. You have done...?
