Information that hunters do not want you to know is how many millions of deer they wound and cripple a year and how they use the blood and guts of the deer to track them down. Some hunters wait till the next day because it may take too long for the animals to die and hunters are too tired to look for them. Several sites about "tracking wounded deer" and there are many

Never give up. A story of wounded deer recovery.

"Later investigation on mine revealed the shot had entered behind the last rib on one side and exited between the 5th and 6th on the other and lodged behind the shoulder. Like I have said before, some bucks just don't know how to die."

Why is it important for 'hunters' to find wounded animals besides the "trophy"?

"Failure to recover bow killed deer is bowhunting's "Achilles Heel." Statistically too many bowhunters fail to find the animals they kill which in turn becomes dangerous ammunition in the arsenal of anti-hunting groups. When you take up the trail of a wounded deer, do so with an open mind, because there are misconceptions that can change the effectiveness of any trailing situation. "

Imagine your body dying the way the hunted deer does

"When the arrow is found, pay very close attention to what is on the arrow. Bright red blood is a lung hit. Dark-red blood a liver hit, black blood and green semi-digested vegetation means a gut hit. If during the track you find "thin" red blood, that is

A Gut Shot Deer Track:

This is a hard track. Gut shot deer rarely bleed externally! Yes there is an entrance and exit wound, but the intestines and stomach often close them up. Besides, the gut area offers very few arteries and blood vessels to bleed.

Once the paunch (stomach) is ruptured, semi digested food and stomach bacteria enter the body cavity. This makes the deer sick and it will eventually lay down where it will expire after a long time. Blood loss is minimal and slow and will almost always be internal. These reasons are why one should wait a minimum of 8 hours before attempting to track a gut shot deer.

"where it will expire after a long time"

Deer drowning in their own blood (LUNG SHOT)

"Animals, especially deer, do not start bleeding at the point of impact. The blood trail generally starts about 15 to 30 yards from where the point of impact is. I have seen deer that were "high" lung shot that never bled a drop outside the body! And a heavy blood trail takes a while due to the chest cavity having to fill up before the blood can exit the wound. "

Some deer can live with one lung for days in pain and suffering only to die

From a site called "Tracking A Bow Shot Deer
(and gun shot also) "

"Once on the ground, go to the area where the impact took place. You should be looking for hair, blood, and lastly, your arrow. Finding the arrow is very crucial as it will contain residue from passing through the animal's body and can give you the best indication of where the animal was hit!"

  • Ok well for one, its DEER not deers, you have your views on the subject so do hunters. Bad shots happen all the time nothing you can do about it. I have tracked deer though out the night for hours on end with a search party of 8 and not found it. You act like we just leave them be if we dont find them right away. Yes a small number that are lazy do, but for the ones that have a high level of respect and appreciation for the sport do not. Give credit where credit is due.

  • What you do is not "sports" and I don't "give" credit to cruelty.

  • It sickened me to the point that I almost quit my job. The suffering was tremendous. Death came very slow to most of the deer population in the area. After the trial period was over, the whitetail population had plummeted to less then 23% of the norm. Had it not been for the effort of hunting organizations and local farmers there would be NO deer at all. So, you stay on your side of the fence and Ill stay on mine with hunters that care. This video is nothing but stupid vegan propaganda

  • Somehow wildlife killers think their message or comments are "original" and that we "should" answer them. Sorry but I have answered the same repetitious BS about the thousand times over and still you plug your ears and don't want to hear the truth so I don't wast my time. I do save animals lives which is not easy unlike you that destroys them which is darn easy.

  • Answer me as to why deer vehicle accidents are the highest during deer killing season?( don't blame the rut deer because that is part of nature). Plus the hunting org are deliberately creating large deer preferably the buck deer for sports killing thus more deer in rut and more deer. DVA's has gone up as the result of hunting so not only does hunters cause pain and suffering to animal lives but to innocent human lives.

  • There are over 1,000,000 deer hit and killed by vehicles every year in the United States. That constitutes a lot of pain and suffering. I go back to what I have asked you every time and you refused to answer. Should we outlaw all forms of transportation because they result in deer suffering?? Comparing 68,000 deer to 1,000,000 is not even close. Be a man and make sure that all of these responses are posted. If you don't I will deem you a coward.

  • You are funny. I sent you a long response a couple of weeks ago in the inbox section of YouTube and you didn't respond. Now you go on this wall and post a comment that I wasn't aware of until I visited this video again. All of you animal rights people on this website are the same. You only allow comments to be posted that you approve first. You are afraid on confrontation and your arguments being hurt. Grow a set of balls!

  • Bowhunters do not care to be "taught" there are enough sadistic bowkillers killing for pleasure, trophy and sports.

  • Carnivores need to kill in order to survive man do not for man is anatomically designed for plants. BOB its not about "judgment" is about killing animals for sports and trophy being WRONG. Its about the lies of the hunting industry claiming hunting is "deer reduction" when DVA's has risen because of hunting and innocent human continues to die as well. Would it be "judgmental" if the subject was about dog abuse ? Is it because the subject about deer?

  • I dont see how you can justify things in the bible & then turn around & belittle someone else & the decision to hunt... I do not go to church & study the word of Jesus & of his father but,,, The bible dont teach being judgemental against another.

Humans had the choice to sin & to eat meat.. They had that choice - Why are there carnivorous animals still ? Did they have that choice ??

You can blame others but,, Why do you have a block on your comments - why not allow all comments to be made???

  • I am a bowhunter... I agree that the study is inaccurate & therefore shouldnt be considered but, It is a start... If these studys continue & then taught to upcoming hunters - The ethics of making a vital shot & recovering a wounded animal would lower this rate...

Alot of people out there have little to no remorse for the animal (I have met MANY MANY of these people - Including my mothers Husband)

He has wounded / not recovered a few deer this season alone & It makes me MAD AS HELL!!!!!!!
