The first part of any sale is how to you greet the customer, whether on the phone or in person, the best is welcoming and open. How would you invite someone into your home? "May I help you?" I don't think so. This is one of five aspects of the Greeting that I teach as part of my Five Parts to a Successful sale which I train around the world.

@sellwithnate Great Tip Reminder !!! I have used a variant form of these type of words in my security job in order to get people to comply with my requests to show id.

I used to use a very powerful greeting to cold prospects walking by our location in the mall and it worked so effectively I helped bring an entire group of locations to some of the top in the country...
...it was so simple..
...but super powerful...
Here it is:
"Excuse me, can I ask you a question?"
The key to this was to lean over, become very interested in them, and expect them to stop and say what?
Then you go right into the first qualifying question without delay!
Works like a charm!

This is very good information. I've just started in a retail store and I'm trying to make people comfortable as soon as they come in the room. I noticed that I have a very short window before they begin browsing. So I have to get to the front before they begin ignoring me!!!

I wouldn't buy anything from this guy. Nothing wrong with the concept of doing the greeting but this guy NEVER smiles and comes across as an arrogant ass.

I hate retail enough as it is this guy is the quintessential dickhead sales manager who ends up getting his car mysewriouslyt smashed up after giving out warnings to people becuase they don't smile enough

Nice clip Bob. Its basic and fundamental information yet many don't choose to skill themselves in basic areas like the 'good morning'.
