Notice how the motorist at the end of the video does not slow down at all for the deer in plain sight? It is people like these who say "the deer hit my car."

A farmer stopped by when I was recording the deer, and told me that this road is a "death corridor" for the deer. He told me about a man who hit a deer the day before and claimed to be doing only 30 MPH, yet left 100' of skid marks on the road.

  • Good for you! I wish that other people gave as much thought to other species as you do. Sadly, most want to get to the red light first - at any cost, everyone else - especially wildlife - be damned.

  • So true! I was behind someone on Browntown Rd when two fawns crossed, they hit one and kept going. We stopped, and the fawn had a broken leg with bone hanging out. I wasn't sure what to do. A couple other motorists stopped, and one lived right down the road and was going to come back and shoot it, but it died before he made it back. I stayed with the fawn while it died, and helped the other fawn cross safely.
