Proto Man 9 - Wily's Castle Boss #2 (Buster Only)

Fight against the second boss of Wily's Castle as Proto Man in Mega Man 9.

Ugh. This was a major pain. I had to use an E-Tank halfway through here just because this boss is so tough with just the Buster, and Proto Man to boot. First off, the trick to the first part is to never let it fire missles at the peak of its drift. Always try to trick it into firing them at mid level or low level, that way you can blast them all before they get to you. Fortunately, as I found out, the second part's spikes are not an instant kill, but they hurt a lot. Jumping and gunning is your best bet here, but try to time your shots so that they're flying at the pods as the ship is coming down. The last part is fairly straightforwards, dodges its beams and shoot the cannon.

Since I'm doing a Buster Only challenge with Proto Man, I have to do the second part the hard way. You're right though, T. Blow is a good option, but it runs out quickly. Two other options are M. Bazooka, charge it up and let it loose when those pods drop a shark, it takes them out quickly. Second option is L. Trident which is extremely effective on all parts of this boss.

Oh, so that's how you damage the second part with just the Mega Buster. I couldn't figure it out, so I jsut used Tornado Blow.
