Also as an animal control officer I feel it is very important to tell people who bring in their pets that after 92 hours they can be euthanised, It tends to make more people care about where their pet is going!

At the shelter I work at it is nothing like this... but it definatly is in big towns in citys just because of space.
At my shelter every dog goes out for at least an hour or two a day to play off leash in the yard, old dogs get wet food, sick dogs get medicine, and injuried dogs or dogs to young for adoption get transferred to rescue groups!
Research and support your local shelter and you can really make a difference! Our volunteers and the donations we recieve are what makes the difference!

I feel guilty now....i had to surrender my dog cause we were moving. But i took it to a no-kill shleter.

Im a volunteer at my local animal shelter. I even come on Saterdays when Im not sceduled to comme and give them each a bone from a store that I got to "sponser" me in that.

Its just shocking that people don't know the truth...Its not a shelter, its a slaughterhouse and if "shelter's" told the truth about what happens many people would reconsider dropping off their pet
