  • THIS IS great thanks for the help but i have a problem none of my toolbars or menus show up on my maya 8.5 screen how can i get them back up thanks again

  • Display>UI Elements

  • just wondering, but can you just freehand animate it, without using the x/y axis. by just moving it and then setting a key frame?

  • You can move things in any way that you choose.

  • yea its great.....too bad he won't be doing any more. Oh well....

  • More videos are in the planning stages now. Stay tuned.

  • I think it's just because it's being recorded and on youtube. I'm trying it out in maya simultaneously, and it's really smooth.

  • Hey, animating characters is VEEERY hard, so you have to learn all that properly first... Otherwise you'll never manage to animate a character ! =)

These videos are for beginners; if you already know all that, there are very good tutorials on animation on the Internet... Good luck !!

  • It does fill in the gaps, but you don't see it properly on the video, I guess it's because it was put on Youtube and the quality isn't very good. But if you try it out, you'll see everything goes perfect =)

    Excellent tutorials !!

  • it feels awesome you rock

  • was it just me or did it look like the animation was just jumping from one posistion to the next with no motion in between

or is that just because you are like screening it onto youtube

  • it fills in the gaps.. just as he explains..

  • When you played the Frame animation it seemed jumpy. i.e. jumped to the frames where you inserted a "key frame". Does maya not "fill in the gaps" so to speak? similar to a motion tween in flash. Where you select a start and end point and it "motions" between the 2 key frames?

Thanks for the videos, excellent concept.

Maybe oneday there will be interactive modules. I'm studying BSc Multimedia Computing at UWE and would love to see modules mapped from uni to uni via YouTube :)

  • Hi i have watched all of your tutorials and they have helped me out a lot and I am doing a solar system model i got the planets made and i got them following a path (orbit) but i wanted to know if i can make the planets rotate while orbiting if so what do i do or is there a tutorial for that i would really appreciate it thanks

  • Go back up to the top and select view or display not sure which, but you should find a selction labeled UIelements SHOW ALL. selecting this should reveal all the menu items
