At a hearing of the Oversight and Government Reform Committee October 28, 2009, Rep. Peter Welch called on Goldman Sachs Wednesday to repay taxpayers the $12.9 billion it received through the American International Group (AIG) before it awards bonuses to employees this year.

  • What's the point of this if no discipline or consequence ever occurs?

    Everyone is laughing because the government will never ask for the money back. Trying to make the public feel better by pretending the government actually enforces rules on banks.

  • Are Obama and company going to give back their Goldman Sachs money?

  • the real question is where the money went after it was transferred to goldman citi jp morgan? it obviously did not got to the execs except on a minscule scale. this discussion distracts from this central question. answer-it went to private equity lenders to the banks that used them in market control operations and political corruption.
