  • very good presentation ........

  • It's the metal platform that I am missing. Can that be purchased?

  • I replace the the parts as shown but I saw I do not have the metal bar piece that is at the bottom that the bonnet popup kit attaches to. Is there a way I can purchase that piece as well? It appears without it the popup will not pop up at the right angle to pop into the top piece. Everything else was easy but I'm getting frustrated PLEASE HELP!

  • Very helpful. Thanks!

  • This is awesome! Thanks! This has happened to me twice. Now I know what to do and I can save a heap of money in the process. :-)

  • @debicov Before I installed the repair kit, I decided to turn the water on one more time. I must not have had it on the whole way the first time because this time the poppit popped up and held. I tested all my heads with the old parts still in the BFP. What I noticed after I was done testing was that the BFP was leaking. It wasn't a lot, but I installed the kit anyway. It was SO easy and I have NO leaks.

  • @debicov Mine was not broken - it just wasn't working. The water just kept rushing out. The piece that pops up to seal off the water is not popping up. So I guess that it is "broken", just not broken like it shows in the video. Also the seals are probably bad because when I rubbed them with my fingers it left black streaks. I found the kits at Lowe's so I heading there now. I plan to install tomorrow. I will post my results.

  • Was yours broken off, per video? Good luck!

  • Thanks for the vote of confidence, elmash, but I've shut off water, opened the testcocks -- and I don't see anything broken. Any other ideas. This video was awesome!!!!

  • @debicov Sure you can do this. I'm also a single female that just tore apart the old one and put it all back in place before I watched this video and now I'm going out to purchase the repair kit. You don't need to turn the water off at the street, just turn the water off where he indicates in the video.
