Edward Woodward, in the role of spy-come-assassin David Callan, in an employment dispute. Really old British tv show, called Callan, with dreadful production quality. But heh, these people could act.

From episode 1, Series 3, entitled "Where else Could I go?"

Excellent example of dramatic reversal.

  • Il a même joué dans La conspiration du trèfle. Je l'ai en cassette

  • @Equalizer408 translation: "He even played in the conspiracy of clover. I cassette" ?

  • "Not talking to you, sonny. You, I can force any time I want" == wonderful, casually patronizing remark.

  • Awesome, Edward Woodward before he was the Equalizer! Very under-rated actor.

Check out his performance as Ebenezer Scrooge as well.

  • Nowadays we have too many special effects, horrible dialogue and equally wretched acting. Callan's production budget may have been low, but the acting and writing were superb. Plus, the claustrophobic atmosphere works well. We need to get away from the imbecile cop shows with the 80lb blond who karate kung fus a 6'3" gangbanger to death while holding a 357 magnum the size of her waist. God Bless Edward Woodward.

  • @screenwriter44 - I agree 100%. Glossy effects and smart-ass editing, and crass dialog, they all get trounced by stuff of this quality. Brilliant stuff, loved it as a kid.

  • Fantastic...

  • @ingravegreen agreed. He's so straight laced and authoritarian, despite the beautiful bohemian hair.

  • Hunter's smile is like a snake crawling on his face. It's incredibly unsettling. One of the best TV shows ever made.

  • William Squire (Hunter) and Patrick Mower (Cross) did great in the supporting roles, that icy smile of Squire's is really something.
