Bill Atkinson is one of the greatest software geniuses of all time. He was one of my idols when I was growing up in the 80s. Ironically, when people mentioned Steve Jobs' name to me, I didn't even know who Steve was. Bill's name was on my favorite pieces of software, and the first one that I started programming against in the early 90s, when I was 9 or 10 -- HyperCard.

It is a damn shame. This guy actually figured out single-handedly how to get windows to overlap and hardly anyone knows who he is. That is why the old macintosh had overlapping windows and MS Windows did not until much later.
