Super Demo World (Mario) Misty Star World 1 TAS by JXQ

Wow.

For those not used to this type of thing this requires a lot of explanation. This is tool-assisted, meaning that it was played on an emulator using slowdown and savestates, then sped up to normal speed. The game being played is Super Demo World: The Legend Continues, a fan-created game using the engine and many elements from Super Mario World. And boy is it ever played!

But this particular level scrolls automatically, so speed is not an issue. What does the TAS-maker do? He (JXQ, an accomplished TAS runner) makes the level as entertaining to watch as humanly possible. The quality level speaks for itself.

I can't even begin to guess how many hours went into this video; how many hours of work by JXQ, how many hours of game design by FuSoYa and ZeroG (the people who made this game), and if I include the man-hours Nintendo originally put into Super Mario World - okay, maybe that's going too far.

I hate this level alot but i was able to beat it without savelates slowdown or fastseed. just normal alll the way died a lot.

this was completely crazy. after i got into the starworld and saved (DOH!) i had to fight my way out through this stage to make it back to the real world. after only about a billion rom saves and reloads i made it. not much i can tell you other than juggle the key and p plate. also u need a feather and flower all the way through. u dont need yoshi at all, or even the spring. mash ur way thru the blocks and try to stay on top

That's some great TAS. And that juggling was awesome. I had to keep reminding myself that it's 100% deliberate, that you're not going to fuck it up. Brilliant work man.

I think this is the hardest Star Road level, especially if you walk in it without a fire flower. And to make matters worst, it scrolls.
