The one-step 'exercises' in Soryu Karate present the fundamental/philosophy theory of its self defense system. Angles, accuracy and proximity are key components of Soryu.

In theory these one-steps can be done in response to a lapel grab, kick to the torso or in some cases an open or closed wrist grab. Modifications and adaptability are encouraged.
