5/25/08: Farm machinery sculptures, water-inspired jewelry, layered swaths of recycled fiber and marbled paper bowls - and that is just a sampling of the art you can find along one remote dirt road in Jericho.

During Vermont Open Studio Weekend, artists across the state open their doors to the public.

The Jericho-Underhill Open Studio Tour is a group of artists who have fostered a fertile rural community.

I began the day at HQ, the Emile A. Gruppe Gallery where I met some photographers, and got a map and directions. Then I visited artists along Nashville Rd.

Peeking inside artists' studios is a real thrill, especially when they live in such funky, unique homes. Nature and art intermingle in a symbiotic setting. There must be something in the water.

  • So happy to see this video! My husband Robert W Brunelle Jr is a Fine artist in Acrylics and political cartooning here in jericho Too. We would love to be part of this. He is also the Pres of the No Vermont Artist Association. How do we get in touch with this group?

    many thanks,Grace Brunelle, Fiber Artist

  • Yay! Which artist do you think I'm related to? It's Jack Chase! His mother was the oldest woman in Lamoille County before she died. She was over 100, but I don't remember her exact age. Have you ever been on Lost Nation Rd. between N. Cambridge and Waterville? It's pretty quirky!

  • LOL, fuckin' hippies! One of us, one of us! Luuuv the rose quartz piece @ 2:03, so lovely!
