  • Its an Optoma EX525ST.

  • HIDE YOUR WIRES!!! lol That looks auwful. Get a DJ Skirt or blind. Ouch.

  • @secdawg02

Man you critics are killin me. (all good comments though) I have long since gotten a full skirt, all new PA system with QSC mains and subs, new lights, new truss, new projector, video screen and robotic camera.

Got a video of it all in action. Will have to post it soon, just to keep you guys happy ;)

  • Very unprofessional looking. Invest in some black extension cords and a road case. Also loose the tacky screen. You can purchase a used one for a couple of hundred dollars on eBay. Also purchase a short throw lense for the projector so the image will fill the screen. Do those things you will have a decent setup.

  • Thanks for the suggestions. In my own defense this was the first time setting up my truss and i have since gone with all black cords and made some other improvements.

The screen was a one time DIY thing that i decided to do a few days before NYE and hasnt been used since.

May look into your other recommendations in the future if i decide to do more with the projector.

Road case looks good, but the amp is 37 lbs a decent case is another 20-50 lbs, then add the mixer. 1 guy setup = a sore back

  • which projector did you use?

    i recommend the optoma es526

  • looks busy there mate

  • @miked9372 and definately some subs

  • and also i notice i think it was winamp you were using to play the music it is good for the karaoke but for music i would recomend using virtual dj studio 5 as it automaticly fades the song that is playing and brings in the next track so you have no gaps in the music

  • hi there i noticed a slight buzz when the music stoped if you have a look on ebay and get a ground loop isolator for between the laptop and the mixer it will ilimanate the slight buzzing noise you get i had the same trouble and your lights are nice i have a similer steup but i have 8 par 56's and a derbi as well as acme dynamo and a strobe as well

  • needs more lights...

  • I understand why you think going with DMX might be a bit of work, and I absolutely agree that it is very time consuming. Personally I think you could take the time to set up maybe 3 banks of scenes and put them all in one chase. Usually people don't realize when the chase starts over, and by using a controller the sound activation happens all at once, and the lights are all coordinated with each other.

Nonetheless, this is a nice set-up and I personally would hire you if I were in need of a DJ.
