@redneck5896 : Actually, the guitarist named himself after the guitar. He's on Rough Trade Records and has a page on Myspace. Spells it "Del Rey".

@Hitamaru thats the name of the guitar.

I worked in a music store a couple of years ago in Atlanta and a lady brought in not one, but two of those things to sell.

@jackschvartz it actually has a ton of different sounds and presets. this sounds like the accordion setting. but its also got vibes, flute, church organ, marimba, and any other combination of buttons you can think of.

@WarrenCain i got one :)))) found it in a little music store in northern wisco. picked it up on sight, and its the coolest thing i've ever owned. but thats the kind of situation you gotta find to get one...like jackschvartz said. super rare.

Man! Three hits. Teisco, his guitorgan (finally get to hear one in action) and my favorite MGs tune. Well, all right!
Wow that guitorgan is cool!!! Can you buy one of those???

Wow. I knew a guy 30 years ago, Berklee grad, who had one he'd drag out for solo gigs. Given how temperamental he said it was, it's hard to believe there's still one out there now in working order! My memory had it looking more like a 335, but that recollection may be suspect. Were they available in different body styles?

I'm sorry man I have no clue this is the only one I've seen period.

Is that a Guitorgan?
dbwindhorst 3 years ago
Yes that's a "guitorgan" it's a guitar that you form chords like a regular guitar and the sounds that comes out sounds like that. It sounds like a cross between a farfisa organ and a acordian.
