Let's play Distant Worlds - Episode 7: Victory

This episode is the last in this playlist because we quite unexpectedly reach the victory conditions. I was tempted to play on because our new fleets were on the move but decided to finish up.

I also hope this series shows that small galaxies and low numbers of opponents can still lead to an interesting game. I would go as far as saying that low numbers of opponents leads to more interesting games than having massive galaxies with all races. We couldn't trade tech so we had to win on our production ability.

I hope you have enjoyed watching this playlist of Distant Worlds 'Let's plays'. I really enjoyed playing as the Gizureans. They are not a race I tend to choose when I'm looking for an aggressive game but would definitely choose them again.

I really enjoy Distant Worlds and am sure I'll come back and make another one soon. I think my next project will be a more in-depth Fallen Enchantress game once the next Beta is launched.

I think you should take a look at Aurora if you want a "bit" (i warned you) more complex 4X Game ... :)

Please keep doing these.. they are awesome.. I just wish you would show us some more realtime stuff... as you do things rather than all just over view of the state while paused.. I would like to see a more epic scale next time as well if possible

I think what the one guy said...you did that very masterfully...so it is time maybe to increase the AI difficulty...and then maybe try an even more aggressive race....can we expect another LP soon?

Indeed, great LP. Your isolated start, combined with your focus on opening up new sources of strategic resources really bode well for you and your independent conquering. The economy just shot though the roof from there, I mean look how fast you pumped out the 4th fleet, and even then the economy was back to where it started when you finished the 15x CA's.

Time for you to ratchet up the difficulty looks like =)

Oh, already over. It was interesting as always. How about a longer LP next time? Perhaps with more races which are even more advanced than you at the beginning? In this LP the other races had no chance against you, even with their starter-benefits. Looking forward for more from you. :-)

Great LP. The game is daunting when you first start but your LPs are really helpful. Maybe for your next one you should increase the number of races.Seems like you had too much of a free run in the upper half of the map.

i have to say that i love Distant Worlds. its so much like Master of Orion2, my all time favorite X4 game. even ship building looks like a direct port from MOO2. this game does not try to look stunning, and does not add complexity where it is not needed, but it gets the interface right (though needs some time to learn). the AI automation is brilliant, and other races seem very balanced. the developers did a fantastic job.
