  • why the rare rump steak I cooked was always tough, tough to chew, however, the medium rump steak was just alright. is it because of the brand of the rump? I have changed several brands, from grass fed to grain fed.

  • @CCL27758704 The rump cut does have more of bite when compared to a sirloin for example but a good quality butcher would provide the very best!

  • @GourmetButcher your are more than welcome! Happy cooking!

  • for RARE steak - 3 1/2min - 4 1/2min each side depending on thickness... my rump steak is usually 1 1/2inch thick NY Cut... i just salt it (sprinkle 'cajun spices' over it then cook in an iron cast fry pan with just a smidgeon of beef lard to stop steak from sticking too much, you only need to cook on a medium heat turning just once... let meat sit for 3mins max... worcestershire sauce is a must...

  • thanks

  • Bravo!
