Not enough time in the day. Taken at 2:05 PM, at the predesignated turn around time. It was a cold windy day with snow reaching four feet deep. It may have not been a successful summit but, snowboarding through the ancient stand of Bristle Cone pine was amazing.

  • Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I was out hiking the CDT this year and found your note while adding in a new clip. And, yes I tried the queen valley side and yes, it was a late start. I did not stay at the mine for fear of being snowed in (13 inches fell that night) Next time I think I will give it a go while there is no snow on the ground. It may be easier. I am at number 33 on my quest. Peace, Bob

  • did you go from the trail canyon side or queen valley,? seems like you got a really late start, we live about 45 min from the trail head, queen canyon is a lot less hassle and easier to follow . good luck next time!!
