Here's a pretty rare one by Bop and The Bel-Tones from an original Jamaican Studio 1 pressing. Not sure if I would consider this Rocksteady or Ska - it sits in between the two. It reminds me of the flip of Isrealites

  • Sounds like rocksteady to me.

  • It is rocksteady. A lot of music crossed over genres at this time

  • There was a old style sound system DJ version of this song what I had back in the 70s cant remember the name though cos it was on a white label can anyone else remember it, nice old tune

  • if it was on a dub plate you may never find out.. They did dubs one at a time, and quite often they were one of a kind. If it was a white label of a released tune (common practice in the Jamaican music industry) then there would be other copies out there. I wasn't aware of any other versions of this, but if I come across any I will let you know

  • Great! Thanks.

This is rocksteady for sure and was done in 1967, later redone by Dennis Brown & also Errol Dunkley in the early 70s.
