Hi DooWop--
This is rocksteady for sure and was done in 1967, later redone by Dennis Brown & also Errol Dunkley in the early 70s.

Thanks PJDooWop I knew about white lable dubs cos I used run a old sound system with some freinds in secondary school in the 70s (yeah I was only one of two white guys in the sound aswell LOL) the record did have name printed on it but I just could'nt remember what it was, if you do find out I'll be most greatfull thanks
Sounds like rocksteady to me.

It is rocksteady. A lot of music crossed over genres at this time

There was a old style sound system DJ version of this song what I had back in the 70s cant remember the name though cos it was on a white label can anyone else remember it, nice old tune

if it was on a dub plate you may never find out.. They did dubs one at a time, and quite often they were one of a kind. If it was a white label of a released tune (common practice in the Jamaican music industry) then there would be other copies out there. I wasn't aware of any other versions of this, but if I come across any I will let you know
