*ALTHEA WAITES*
Pianist, Althea Waites, has been acclaimed throughout the U.S., Europe and Asia as a brilliant soloist, chamber musician and collaborative artist. Ms. Waites has a distinguished history of performing new music by American composers and has received several honors and commendations for her work. Her recording credits include the landmark CD, "Black Diamonds", a collection of music by African-American composers released by Cambria Records in 1993 to rave reviews by critics. Her new recording, "Along the Western Shore", was also released by Cambria in April 2004. In addition to maintaining her concert schedule, Ms. Waites is currently on the keyboard faculty at Cal State University, Long Beach. Her strong commitment to cultural and community education is evident through her work with many outreach and service programs in retirement homes, prisons, medical centers and art institutions such as the Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Dept., as well as previous affiliations with Performing Tree, the Los Angeles County Music Center Education Program, and Chamber Music in Historic Sites. Ms. Waites is a graduate of Xavier University of Louisiana and the Yale University School of Music.

You should be aware that a good number of these student musicians have been playing their instrument since their freshman year or just a few years prior in entering to high school.

The band only had 2 rehearsals with Ms. Waites before the concert

It was good i like the sound of the band except for the clarinets. Messed up on box 11 and 13. Maybe if he wouldn't of stould up it would be less noticeable
