Cutting Riser from BOP June 1, 2010 - BP Oil leak containment attempts.mov

The plumes of oil coming out look like a volcano now. This was what BP said would happen, as three leaks merges down to one big one. Although I must admit, the pressure coming out of the pipe now looks very strong. This is the so-called 'Cut and Cap'! Trying to seal the Macondo well, once and for all.

BP entered day today of their latest attempt to stop the ejecting or leaking crude oil with their lower marine riser package cap or LMRP capping. It is containment and not a new BOP; that would be what they try apparently if this fails.
