VOTE FOR CHANGE?
...
In 2004 directors Coan Nichols and Rick Charnoski set out from Seattle to make a " Super 8 home movie" of Pearl Jam's barnstorming, eight-city Vote for Change Tour. There was no script, no plan. It was gritty, reality film-making in the finest tradition -- recording human moments with hard-pressed voters from Reading, Pa., to Kissimee, Fl.;  getting the music down wherever it happened, including unforgettable footage of a Pearl Jam sound check with Neil Young in a hockey rink in Toledo, Ohio. The result a film locked away in a vault for four years -- is by turns tender, raw and electric. But more than that it remains a searingly painful lesson about what can happen when the wheels come off America's democracy. We present for the first time VOTE FOR CHANGE?

  • we were all at the reading pa show.... great concert

  • I'm turning 18 in a week and i can't wait for the first election when i can finally vote. Its something i've wanted to do since the 2004 election.

  • I'm a huge PJ fan and they're welcome to their views but it does isolate those who actually think things are significantly worse than they were in 2004.

  • what's the pearl jam song? it rocks!

  • Thanks for helping bring change Pearl Jam! You guys are awesome!

  • The like the fact that it says "Vote For Change?" at the end of the video. The question mark is the key element here, they nailed it. Ah... democracy. A chance to participate in a good old fashioned game of charades is more likely to be closer to the truth of it all. A good front... that's all... thats it.

  • I love Eddie and admire his efforts with all this, but the whole idea was kind of naive. A Kerry administration wouldn't have been any better than Bush. The elitist oligarchs who own this country don't really care who you vote for, because they own both parties. Both candidates are bought and paid for.

  • Whent the movie comingh out?

  • Voteing does not change anything our voices should be heard no matter what ,,,,,,,losing homes and jobs do u care

  • I completely agree. Im sick of celebrities talking politics. Especially after 2008. At John Mayor's concert last year he spent over half the time talking about politics. Just play the damn music...
