  • Holy Crap - can you say 1995 boating gear? This is an old video, the gorge has been run since then to by kayakers with better boats who ran almost the entire gorge. Old ass videos of kayaking are fun to watch though, looking like they have wiffle ball helmets and all.

  • We have a saying in Whitewater "It is always better to have wished you ran a rapid then to wish you hadn't", unfortunately he should have been smarter in the moment and had not run the rapid, reason being, if the rapid is that dangerous and you can't set reasonable safety, you don't run it period no questions asked, no rapid anywhere is worth your life, and I've paddled on 3 continents.

  • his mates should of had a throw bag there if he gt it wrong

  • "In the end, it is the life in your years, not the years in your life that matters". Abraham Lincoln. This guy died living life to the fullest. RESPECT!

  • You people are stupid as fuck. I know Tom who was on that trip. He can hardly speak of that day without crying. Him, Jamie, and Roger portaged but Doug wanted to run it. They did set up safety but where they were was the only available place. Had he swam out of the boat he would of been carried downstream into a second even larger hole. Surely would of died. In that situation the river was more powerful than he could handle. He had supplies in his boat that made him slower and made it harder fo
