If you guys were REAL film critics, you might have mentioned the 1962 film "300 Spartans" and the historical context which Miller was drawing from.

But I guess you were too busy trying to be hip and funny :)

Good try, but Miller was worried about as much about "historical context" as he was about dressing his realism. This is a fantasy based very very loosely on reality. We weren't "trying" to be anything other than honest.

I'm pretty sure that Zack Snyder didn't want us to take that literally. I'm just pointing it out as hypocritical and lazy storytelling. Being liberal has nothing to do with the fact that I thought the movie was hollow.

Come on now, both of you. Please just admit you're both liberals and hate all that the movie stands for regarding moral unambiguity, duty, honor and sacrifice. Why did your review focus only on the most shallow layers of the movie? Your excuse can't be as lame as "We reviewed it as an action movie". That can't be it, you both sound reasonably intelligent.

I thought that reviewing it as an action movie was more generous than most "liberal critics" were to this film. I just said that the story didn't involve me. Even thought I disagree, I really appreciate your comments.

It's funny how people were expecting 300 to have some revolutionary story. It's not meant to be historically accurate, nor is it meant to be shakespeare like story telling. It's a violent dude movie, that's all it is.

Movies are about entertainment FIRST, and with every film you review I see you use, not the entertainment/concept factor, but your own strange/egotistical morals to determine whether or not it is a good movie. You are honestly the worst to movie critics I have ever seen (and I have seen some BAD movie critics). Trying to talk people out of seeing what is a good movie experience by magnifying a small moral nitpick is just despicable. Stop making reviews!

u know, zack snyder is a really good director, he has three great films(dawn of the dead 04, this, and watchmen) under his belt and i would honestly love to see him direct a jusice league movie, as long as it would be written and produced by bryan singer(x men, superman returns) and chris nolan(u'd have to be an idiot to not know wut he's made)
