This helps to stretch the food dollars by making butter spread thinner and go further.
The healthy oils (olive and coconut) are good fats for your body.
It's easy to whip this up and savor the great butter flavor!
Good on the budget and better for your body.

2 sticks softened organic butter
1/4 -1/3 C organic olive oil
1/4-1/3 C organic coconut oil

Whip together on high until smooth and fluffy.
Transfer to a storage container and use usual.

  • I see this video was posted awhile ago but I had a question ...Is the coconut oil you use cold pressed virgin coconut oil or the processed kind with no scent or smell of coconut?? and if it is virgin oil does it taste coconutty??? I have both in my pantry and wasn't sure which one to use...

  • @mommyofone66 ~ Hi!

We use organic pressed virgin coconut oil...the kind with the coconutty smell. It does not take like actual coconut once combined, but the butter does take on a slightly 'richer' flavor in my opinion. We also pop popcorn in straight coconut oil (this kind) just add some sea salt...very tasty!

Thanks for watching and for the great question!

  • Considering the price of organic, cold pressed oil, wouldn't butter be cheaper?

  • @MichaelnChristine ~ sorry to be SO SO slow in my response....

    Well, yes and no.

Doing this makes the butter itself spread thinner and stretches out the use of it if 1/2 of it is healthy oils, I'm only using half the butter each time. Plus it lowers the 'bad' fats percentage.

But yes, one could use just room temp butter...my kitchen is never room temp tho. It's hot or cold. So this stabilizes it to be spreadable all the time.

  • Hmm ... it sounds great ... but what about the people that are allergic to coconut?

And you mentioned that the human body recognizes the butter, but not margarine ... is that bad for you? Sorry if I sound stupid ...

  • @swtaznseraph ~ Hi!

I have NO idea why I never got a notice that you had posted this!!

Instead of coconut, just use all organic olive oil (a little strong so get a mild one) or an organic safflower/olive combo.

Margarine has been hydrogenated which means the oil molecules are tampered with to hold a more 'solid' state - but they then become a molecule that is similar to ... plastic....and the body cannot digest plastic. It goes to arteries.

    Great questions!

    Sorry so slow!

  • @prepperfrau ~ Ahahah! I'm caught! You are the FIRST person to catch that! (o:

You should now be scared...that you 'got it' - hahaha!

Yes, I do use it in regular baking. Not EVERY time, but often enough to know it works great!

  • "Whip it. Whip it good." Loved that! You are a hoot! I appreciate the stretching butter tip. Once you've done this, can you still use it as if it were regular butter in baking? Thanks.

  • If someone is alergic to coconut - try 1/2 olive oil and 1/2 safflower or canola oil. They are fairly mild in taste. The coconut oil makes it seem VERY buttery.

Margarine has hydrogenated oils which the body does not recognize as a real food....yet dairy and oils that are liquid at room temp the body does recognize. So it's not a stupid question AT ALL - in fact it's a great one! (o:

  • My pleasure to share! Thanks for the kind, encouraging words, Mary Ann!

    Blessings!
