Righteous indignation my behind. The Republicans are on stage rehearsing for November. Lies and more lies await the Americans. What a joke this political system the US has. Third party and new President is needed. Obama failed. Both parties failed. Peter hit on the head, Congress and government can't keep going on this path of degenerate politics.

@PaulUmbarger: You're still young, wait a while. I've had family misdiagnosed, and nearly died in the care of this sick and incompetent health system. Only in the mind of American patriots is the whole world begging and pleading for a privatized health system. Universal health care is better, it is designed to treat people not keep them sick and deny treatments in order to profit. Take it from a globe-trotter, people outside the USA look much healthier than Americans.

@hectorbolshevik That hasn't been MY experience and I've had some pretty rough times over the last few years. I'm neither rich nor of a privledged race so, how does that explain MY experiences? The point is, if you really think that their system is better, then why do they want to come here? Wealthy or not, they all want to come here.

@PaulUmbarger: Because they're rich. Our most advanced lifesaving treatments are available ONLY to the rich, because they can afford them; not to everyday working Americans who have to twist the medical elites' arms to get even the most obvious needed treatments. Think, lad.

@hectorbolshevik So, if every otherssystem is so much better than the one in the US, why do the leaders and rich of every where else come here for anything more serious than a hangnail? Even the Canadian Prime Minister came here for surgery rather than trust his life to the "Health Care System" that he was technically the head of. Do the math.

@PaulUmbarger: Really? And yet EVERY developed country in the world has socialized medicine, whose people look ten times healthier than Americans. The U.S health system is shit: incompetent doctors, ruining people financially over costs insurance companies are unwilling to pay for life saving treatments, among other things. How many other countries have had a Jessica Terry? That Washington high school student who diagnosed her illness when her doctors could not to save their lives.

@Obobbyss I can see that point of view but, public hospitals can NOT refuse to treat someone in the US. What's more is that they have to accept any payment plan that you offer them. Even if it's five bucks a month... don't believe it? I did it once when I was 18 and out of work. Of course, with the new ObamaCare plan, I don't know what sort of rules are in place. But, i do know that cheap anything is usually worth about what you pay for it. Free is usually worse.
