Dr. V.P. Mohana Kumari received a royal decoration from the Mayor of Ommen on behalf of the Queen of Holland on the 29th of April 2010.
She is now a member in the Order of Orange-Nassau an honour for which she is awarded on the basis of her special and personal merits as an Ayurveda doctor for society.
She has received this award for her lifelong service for her fellow citizens. From the age of 14 she gave allready music and danceclasses to underprivileged children in her native country India. After her high school she studied at the University of Kerala, and after obtaining her degree she studied further in Ayurveda, Siddha and Tribal Medicine. She did 15 years research by the Kani tribes in south India. This nature people founded the base for her vast knowledge of medicinal plants.
As a dedicated physician she helped thousands of patients to improve their lives through ayurveda in both India and the Netherlands.
