When the time comes of my death, I want this movement being played live by my side while I'm on my death bed outside gazing upon the heavenly stars one last time. Out of all the compositions in the world to choose, this I will be the one and only to die with.

Dovrebbero essere caricate le opp. 127, 130, 131, 132, 133, 135 nell'edizione del Quartetto Italiano. Integralmente. Si tratta della summa della musica di tutti i tempi, è un dovere pedagogico verso le giovani generazioni.

This music seems to express acceptance after long suffering. There is almost a sense of gratitude expressed in the music, even despite the almost overwhelming sorrow. Maybe this music represents Beethoven's faith and trust in the meaningfulness of life, however painful that life might be?

One of Beethoven's (or anyone's) most beautiful and heartbreaking moments. QI give a noble, somewhat detached performance of great beauty. Also check out the Talich Quartet for more "conversation" amongst the different players; listen to Beethoven talking to himself and to us.

Saddest music ever written...omg...

Page immortelle, interprétée par un Quatuor mythique.

tempo is right, which is rare to find. The best recording of this is by the (old) Busch quartet. Does anyone agree?however this one is remarkably thoughtful. there is a real danger of making this sublime work syrupy!

This is truly music of the spheres since it is on the data disc aboard the Voyager spacecraft as a cultural emissary to other intelligent life in the universe should they come across it.
