My first ship that I served on sits at the Philadelphia Naval Yard. I served the last 3 years 8 months of its life as a commissioned ship from 2004 -2007. It was very eery to see it all quiet. Not a soul on it now but a lifetime of stories to share. Wishing it becomes a museum so I can step onboard her once again. So glad I made the trip over there.

  • Guess what I read on military.com....The next nuclear powered aircraft carrier will be named USS John F Kennedy (CVN79). This is the second Gerald Ford Class carrier we will have.

  • Want pictures of the inside let me know

  • @MrMichaelPS Are you saying you have pictures of the inside in its current state at the navy yard or back when it was still commissioned? I worked in the #1 Main Machinery Room. I wish I could get the opportunity to cross over the fence and go on it. I'd be interested in seeing those photo's your saying.

  • Good vid. Served 1987-1991 Topside Airman Cat 2 runner. I was due for Discharge in September of 1990, but was denied re: Operation Desert Eagle. Here we come: Gulf of Sidra in the Med- didnt get back until Feb 1991. Thanks for posting shipmate! I sure miss those days!

Now Pop, looked like mini me "Hulk Hogan". Pop was only about 5' 2", but he looked just like Hulk Hogan. Well add-e-oss and I want to thank you very much for the videos! Best regards: Dewey

  • @calkid44 does anyone remember Matt Stanton who served on the John F Kennedy in the Flight Operations?

    He is my younger Brother.

  • Let the Chinese take over this hugely expensive folly of protecting the world. They can afford it now: Our politicians have given them the deals they would never give us. The selfish core of capitalism is great. But not in every politician who has selfish goals of their own, and sell out the American people.
