Beginning at dawn on D-Day, Allied reconnaissance planes flew up and down the coast every hour on the hour, photographing the largest invasion in history.

By the end of the day, a visual record unlike any other was logged on film. As soon as the invasion ended, however, these images were lost. Until now.

These never-before-seen images give a first hand account of D-Day from the air as they unfolded.

  • @sheemsheem *** German Army

  • @sheemsheem if it hadn't been for the constant threat of an Allied invasion from France, which tied up much of the German Division, the 1943 Summer Offensive might've actually succeeded in pushing the Soviets back yet again, so it mightn't have been the true turning point but it sure as hell helped.

  • an old friend of mine land at d day and made it all the way to germany he was tough what makes me mad after all that they only gave him a check for 535 dollars a month a squarrel couldnt live on that and the people working at department of veterns affair make 55000 ayear and the vets got to be on the phone all the time dealing with them croc of bull we owe are vets
