@angryadrien Could put a steel mesh on the end or a pipe with holes in it to mix the fuel and air properly.

Very rough filtering & no pre-heating or de-watering, but we live in the south of england & most of the time it's mild weather. depending on oil viscosity pre-heating could be required.

Is the oil pre-heated at all? I suppose you've just done rough filtering and de-watering as the Babington would likely be insensitive to both.

I would like to second ozzirt's comments. I had discarded Babingtons in favour of spinning cone burners due to the Babington flame being so yellow & smokey but your burner has really changed my mind.
My propane-fired Mr.Heater uses an internal fan. The flame then exits the burn chamber in a spiral pattern.
Do you think that your device would burn cleaner with a spiral path? Perhaps a more efficient burn or flow?
(I have no clue, just sayin')

if you look at MK2 you will find it has a fan at the back. But we found it unnecessary as we run at very high air pressure & it seems to be sufficient. When we switched the fan on it didn't help.

@dompete2 I've seen lots of other oil heaters since my last comment.
Many of the waste oil heaters use thick steel as part of the construction and once the device has heated up it burns very clean. Do you think that capturing more of the heat in the burn chamber would increase the efficiency and cleanliness of the burn?

@angryadrien I don't think it makes any difference to burn quality, It might help if you use a single nozzle to stop the flame going out. What determines a clean & efficient burn is the air/fuel ratio. As you can see in my videos the flame is very pale & see trough (sign of a clean burn), while many others the flame is dark orange & smokes.
