  • @pinkmints i have been thinking about that too

  • go to bed little child and stop trying to talk with mature people when u don't have a hint of a clue about the subject matter...

  • thy should have put the cockpit on the upper deck like in the 747... it would look better lol

  • Gee, I'm sure this BIG MAMA plane will do fine...except it looks like a big fish bowl!!! LOL!!!!!!

  • The only problem I see with the A380 is it is a very "niche" market aircraft. While it is huge and expensive, it is hindered by the economy at the moment, and airlines are deferring orders due to this fact. I think it has it's mission, but the reason that Boeing didn't take this aircraft on directly is due to the fact that they are seeing a different future in aircraft. Instead of hub-to-hub operations, they are seeing more point-to-point routes in the future, thus a reduction in plane capacity

  • The A330-200/300, A340-200/300/500/600, are also designed with the same exact fuselage only extended with new wings, engines, and multiple new systems. Airbus did the same thing with the A300 as Boeing did with the 747. And, Airbus actually went back in time by developing the A340 in some ways when Boeing developed a better aircraft with more range that used only 2 engines, with the 777. The A380 is definitely a milestone, but nothing revolutionary. Now, an economical SST would be something new

  • Okay, I love the A380, but let me counter your theory of "60's" technology. The 747-400 while having the same fuselage, has entirely different and modern systems, a completely different wing, wing/root fairing, economical engines, and actually has the same range as the A380. Saying that the 747-400 is not a modern airliner because it's fuselage was designed in the 60's is also like saying that the A330 is not a modern airliner because it's fuselage was designed in the 70's. Remember the A300?

  • With today economic crises, airlines will and have begun replacing their 747's with a380s. Why split 500 passengers on 2 747's when you can fit them all on an a380 that is fuel efficient? Airlines dont go for looks, they go for capacity and revenue. Basically, you are giving us Americans a bad name due to your over grown and ignorant post. You are the reason why people around the world think Americans are Lazy and stupid.

  • The a380 is the new jumbo jet. Hate it or love it, its not going no where. Why do you think Major airlines are dumping their old 747s? Singapore, British, Cathay, and Air france are all dumping their 747's in exchange for 777's or A380s. The old 747 is a gas guzzler and not to mention NO major airline except LUFTHANSA has ordered the 747-8. You say the 787 is successful only because of orders, BUT they plane is still grounded and delivery and first flight has been delayed for years.
