"The ascent to beauty" is a documentary about the martial art Aikido. Starting at the Dojo of Ulrike Serak, the first woman to found an Aikido-Dojo in Germany the film sets out to explore the world of this Budo-Form. Portraiing her, her student Max Eriksson-Ohlwein and the masters Endo Seichiro and Christian Tissier. - Directed by Manuel Radons.

  • One of the Senseis in the film, Max, just posted this on facebook: The film will soon be available on DVD. German, English and French versions are on the Disc, plus lots of Bonus materials. It will be available on amazon.de and amazon.com.

  • I just love it. Endo Seishiro Shihan philosophy plus the rendori cut performed by Tissier Shihan. The uke-like tori, very smart.

  • @criacaom ps: and filters. lots of filters. especially polarizers and grayscale. without them you don't stand a chance against strong sunlight or sunlight from the sides.

  • @criacaom hi. canon eos 5d mark ii, eos 7d, canon-, zeiss-, tokina- and sigma-lenses, zoom-h4-digital-recorder, varios sennheiser-microphones, a stationary mac, two macbook-pro with final cut and pro tools. in addition: lots of cf-cards, various tripods, different sizes, different heads, several rigs (a manfrotto fig-rig and several custom-made ones). also lighting and light-forming-devices.

  • I will be very excited to see this. There aren't many great aikido documentaries out there.
