Cool, ty! One last question....what's the tall vertical lever behin the engineer?

Whats the horizontal lever the engineer keeps pulling?  Also what is that little reciprocating piece infront of the engineer?

Lima Locomotive Works, Inc., had a very practical steam engine in the Shay family, with plenty of room for the engineer and fireman to do their respective jobs plus a jump seat for the front brakeman on the left. On this coal-fired three-truck, the firebox's butterfly-doored mouth is easily wide enough for the fireman to "spot-hod" several points on the grate within for even combustion.

@roaming2 i do believe butterfly doors are controled by air from the air compressors.
