We Miss Romeo

I'm hoping that this is of better quality than the one I once had. Previously, what I said was: "Romeo is a black wolf in my town Juneau, (Alaska, USA). He's the most famous wolf here, especially because most of ours are extinct. When winter comes around, and Mendenhall Lake freezes over, he's known for: - playing with other people's dogs when they out on walks. (AKA: friendly, but don't go near him, he's still wild and if he starts thinking humans as friends he can always get hurt by someone's gun-watch video "Save the Wolves!" on more.) - being very photogenic so most people who go there can get photos of him. - being the last of his wolf pack to survive. His previous mate (though I haven't really looked into Romeo's whereabouts for a couple of years, but he is still alive-it's October 2009) died, pregnant, and Romeo still didn't join up with another pack of wolves.

October 2011 update: So I made this video like three years ago? Anyway, I finished working at a firearm shop and thought I'd update this (I'm not against hunting, just when someone takes advantage of an animal's weakness and exploits it) and I got an update on Romeo. He was killed in the winter of 2010 by a hunter (Jeffrey P.) with a bow and arrow. According to one source that's very active in the hunting community who heard the hunter's story first hand, he illegally baited Romeo (who does walk within fifty feet of humans) to walk close to him, and shot him using a bow and arrow. I also know that the hunter is getting some karma back as he is struggling to not file for bankruptcy, especially with his $10,000 fine (not including attorney bills) and sold the bow to the firearms shop I'm at. (I will admit it's tempting for me to buy the bow and burn it for a Romeo vigil, but my boss wouldn't let me.) Also, Romeo is thankfully not the last wolf in Juneau, but wolves (as another hunting friend put it): "you won't find them unless they want to find you."

Karma is a bitch! But that guy deserves everything that he gets coming to him. I dont see a point in hunting unless it is the end of the world and you need food you should not need to hunt.

@havilandtyler1 If you're going to hunt, make it a hunt, not a slaughter. Put the sport back into it. Stalk it, outsmart it, kill it, eat it. Don't waste anything, because that creature you just killed had a spark that you just extinguished before it was time. So, no, hunting isn't "bad", I merely suggested that rather than hiding in a tree and just murdering something, put more effort into it. If it's worth killing, then put some work into it. This is one reason I don't hunt, it's easy to kill.
