@coolgreyoneabby I understand people's contentions in regard to God, really I do. It seems completely insane to believe in some invisible entity who is holy and good and omnipotent, etc. but my belief doesn't stem from biblical precedent even though I believe the bible. I've mulled many issues over in my mind for years now and it always leads me back to a creator. Man is so insignificant in the scheme of this world it's frightening. If you don't know the answer you can't rule out anything I say.
@AMERICASMANRONPAUL Yes, Chopra is a bit skewed. He believes that the universe itself has a consciousness and that consciousness is what allows the matter of the universe to exist..
@AMERICASMANRONPAUL I agree with you on the intelligence in the universe, I think the chances are very high that there is other intelligence out there somewhere or somewhen. The questions are: 1) "Was the universe started by an intelligence with some master plan?" and 2) If so, does that intelligence monitor and intervene in the lives of everyone on earth? Religion would say "yes" to both. but science has no evidence for either. That does not mean that it does not exist.
@coolgreyoneabby I've only ever heard of Chopra. Have never read a thing he's written. In fact Ravi Zacharias just mentioned him on the radio the other day and how skewed his teachings are. Ravi is utterly brilliant. I was talking about universal intelligence/consciousness that science can't dispel. Just because it can't affirm it doesn't mean it isn't there because frankly I absolutely refuse to believe humans were or are the only intelligent/conscious beings and that it happened arbitrarily.
@AMERICASMANRONPAUL The thing I like about science is that the answer: "We don't know yet" is sometimes the best, most honest answer and the start of honest inquiry. My issue with religion is when confronted with an unknown, religion often makes up the answer and claims it to be knowledge.
@AMERICASMANRONPAUL If you are seeking the truth on how that "middle part" evolution, works and the evidence for it, then there are many resources available that would fill more than the rest of your life just looking at. A bit of homework would be needed, Just stay away from the religious creationists websites. There is also much info on the Big Bang, abiogenesis and evolution but not all questions have been answered, which is why science still has frontiers to explore.
@AMERICASMANRONPAUL You are correct. My spell check did the "millennium" thing. I'm not female, my dog's name is Abby. Why would you write that science dispels intelligence and consciousness? We and many animals have both. What science dispels in an intelligence without a physical brain. Contrary to what Deepak Chopra teaches and many world religions, we have no evidence for intelligence prior to a physical brain evolving. You write like you are a follower of Chopra, Are you?
@coolgreyoneabby You mean "millennium" I assume. Science can't dispel conscious capacity and can therefore not dispel its existence universally because it's impossible to do seeing as though in order to see, be, practice science you must first be conscious. This consciousness is telling in that because we possess the faculties we do then they exist in the universe exclusive of us. As long as we can consider things we're left to consider all things. I'm off. Peace
