When I hear Stevie seems to me that the play at least three guitarists...

@jeffv2bfree I can partake with immense pleasure of both Jimi and Stevie's version but have to say; Although this is a kick ass version, Stevie's timing is way more by the book than any of Jimi's versions.Jimi had an ungodly knack for jumping way out ahead or coming in way after the beat and ALWAYS pulling it off. And as driving as double trouble are, Mitch and Noel had way more swing as a rhythm section. I'm not continuing the Jimi vs Stevie nonsense that's always present, just saying...

Greatest blues/rock guitar tone and solo I've ever heard.......bar none.......

I think if SRV were alive and cared to read all these silly "comment" posts, he would be irritated that many of the the posts that simply praise Hendrix have been censored as spam. Hendrix and Stevie Ray are one person...right? at least to me they're like one person ...
I wonder... if youtube was around in the 60's would the argument be who played this song better, Hendrix's version or Albert Collins version.. it would have been speeded up rock vs. the older and slower chicago blues style.

@rickengineer66 dude...you're high. You call yourself an atheist and then say God made atheists too? God gives you the gift of choice. He didn't make you atheist anymore than He made me Christian. It's a choice. What the hell does this have to do with the video?

@polymath7 For atheists like you, how do you know monkey boy?
You know what? I LOVE Jimmy...........But I have come to despise his fans.
Thank you for the mountains of love you shared with us Stevie.
And pity on the poor souls who cant partake.

@redmansounds
A huge splash of hendrix worshiping, a lot of wishful thinking and very little truth in your analysis of SRV. Save yourself further embarrassment and stop talking about the man. You're simply clueless...
As for the "black men", they get all the credit they deserve. Maybe you've missed to notice due to pitiable ignorance
