My Batch Reunion - Poem

Here's a poem to batch '83.....have fun reading it.

NOTE: the poem is not aimed at any particular individual...Also i've
made some changes thus kept deleting it and resending many times...My
apologies.


My Batch Reunion

My batch reunion's coming,
and I'm afraid I'm filled with fear.
My weight and chins have doubled
since my graduation year ('83).

I look into the mirror and -
Good Grief! How can this be?
Thick glasses , gray hair, false teeth,
It's my mother's face I see!

But I head out to the party anyway.
No sense of sulking, I decide.
I'll just have to smile and bear it.
But I'm dying, deep inside.

Then I walk into the dinner hall
for a moment I stop. There's some mistake,
not a single classmate do I find.
Did I confuse the date?

Still the features seem familiar,
In unusual kinds of ways.
Then I realize I'm staring at
a batch's parent's face.
