In this video, I show you how to replace the heater hose fittings. These are a very common issue with series 2 and 3 3800's and will fail from 100k to 150k miles.

  • could this be another reason why my caR IS OVERHEATING STILL I CHANGED THE WHOLE COOLING SYSTEM. WATER PUMP THERMASTAT, THERMASTAT HOSE AND THE THERMA STAT NEEDLE IS STILL GOING UP. HELP ME PLS.,

  • @jsly15 It could possibly be. I mean if it's leaking, then it's leaking. You could have a blown head gasket. Do the cooling fans kick on above 230*? Did you bleed the system of air?

  • Say what happens when some of the plastic brakes off and falls in the engine? Is there a way to flush the engine and get that piece out or can I leave it in there what would happen? Help please!!!!

  • @alexkelley20 You HAVE to get the plastic out of there. Otherwise it could get caught in one of the smaller coolant passages inside the engine and restrict coolant flow, resulting in a hot spot and engine failure.

  • What is the part number of the part from AC Delco?

  • @buffett7878 One is a 12565082 and the other is a 24503423

  • @63lesabre Do you know how to get the plastic out?

  • I did this myself thanks to this video! How much did I save by doing it myself?

  • We followed the video for replacing the heater elbows yesterday. Now the heater works and the leak has stopped. However, there was a piece of the old elbow that we couldn't get and fell back in the intake manifold cavity. Will this hurt the cooling system and how can we get it out.? We already put everything back on the car.

  • @buffett7878 just go online on google and put in Heater Hose Fittings 47065

  • I fucking know that the upper and lower intake manifolds on a 3800 Series 2 motor needs to be replace to fix that damn notorious coolant leak. I have a 2002 Buick LeSabre and I am suspecting that there is a small coolant leak in my upper intake manifold. I keep getting a P0420 also which is a Catalytic Converter Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 1 code. I thing that problem is also keep ruining my caty..

  • You are a GOD SEND! I was told that replacing the fitting would be a difficult task. I am a novice when it comes to repairing or fixing cars. But after watching this video I had the job done in about 45min! Thank you very much!

  • Thanks dude all fixed yesterday, now can you help me get the ABS and Trans off lights off.

  • @m0vearound On mine there were 3- 15 mm bolts to remove the tensioner pulley bracket asm, 2 near the middle and one that was a little trickier near the firewall side lower left area of the bracket, not right out in the open, I used a short handle swivel head ratchet to get that one out slowly but a deep socket may have worked if I had one. Hope that helped.

  • @gipee07 how did you remove your belt tensioner in order to get the elbow out???? i'm having a hard time taking mines off
