This is a version of an old Mayan fable, told by a real-life elderly storyteller of Mayan ancestry, Espiridion Acosta Cache. The story tells of man and his wants, which even nature cannot seem to fully satisfy.

This speaks of what troubles many of our hearts, just as much so in this day in age, when there is no certainty, and an abundant lack of hope.

May this cautionary and enlightening tale bring contemplation and perhaps even peace of mind to your weary day

  • beautiful insight..when i heard about these people invoking lucifer to live their dreams...this was the scene came into my mind first...this is why mel gibson was shut down...for intuitiveness n letting the message out....that human desires are far worst than black holes..that..when these satan worshiping people will be bored of fame and money there will be no escape and they themselves would be devoured by the black hole they created

  • really depresses me to see what the world has become...

  • I love this so much. I know they're pagans but the moral of the story is one to be spread.

  • @HOLDATT Are we happier in a computer based civilization?

  • @theone1087 The Mayans died before any Old World Settlers reached the Americas. In fact the Mayans civilization was long gone even before the Aztecs created their empire, and many of those post-Mayan tribes viewed the Mayan ruins as sacred grounds of ancient gods.

  • Beautiful Story. Man keeps wanting and wanting. Taking more than he needs. Not being happy with what he already has... Question is, without this mentality would we still be living in an advanced computer based civilization?

  • @theone1087 When I heard the serpent bit it instantly reminded me of that bit in the bible where Adam and Eve are decieved.

  • I can't believe people still listen to these devil worshippers. Thank God through the help of Ferdinand and Isabella of Spain and the Conquistadors, that they wiped these heathens off the face of the earth.
