It's 1987 the WCT finals in Dallas, it was an invitational 8 person event.

Con la schiena a posto sarebbe rimasto nei primi 5 del mondo per molto tempo.

Yes it already anachronic in 1987, that's why it was terminated after 1989. The WCT tour was not existing any longer. This tournament already had created problems in 1985 because of TV coverage, matches scheduled early in the morning, players were not liking it. McEnroe has lost in straight sets, people were wondering about the need of that tournament.
