Wildlife artist - painter -- Robert Bateman -- describes his book, "BIRDS", as he tells of his worldwide travels. He is recognized by Audubon magazine as one of the 20th Century's "Champions of Conservation."

In his paintings and portraits of birds he captures their natural landscapes and beauty. Bateman has distinguished himself as a man who truly cares about nature and understands its essence.

His work has been displayed in numerous public and private collections and art museums. He has had many one-man museum shows throughout Canada and the U.S., including an exhibition at the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C.

He is the recipient of many honors and awards, including being named an Officer of the Order of Canada, his country's highest civilian honor and he has been the subject of three films.

  • Very interesting to have a firsthand account by Rbt Bateman on travel points in the world. I only visited Kruger Park about 30 yrs ago and found the birds of interest especially their songs. Thanks for posting.
