1600/.20= 8000, then 8000-1600=6400?

All percentage problems where two percentages are given and a numeric value or two numeric values and a percentage can be solved very simply and quickly with a calculator with proportions.

a quicker solution is 100-20=80 percent. then do 1600/.80=$2000

The ACT is a fast paced test. You don't have that much time to figure out each question. For the first problem all you had to do was 45/.20 = 225 -45= 180. .......he did it the long way -_____-

Cross multiply on all of these is much faster.
