'Closing the Gap' is a powerful documentary depicting the real life experiences of four people with learning disabilities and/or mental health problems in primary health care. It contains examples of good practice and important recommendations designed to help primary care practitioners.

This film can be used in training situations or for general viewing. It is supported by the Department of Health for use in the NHS. If you are a trainer, you are welcome to include the film and recommendations in your training session.

  • .People with learning differences can be as successful or more then people with no learning difficulties. it says people with all disabilities don't liveas long of a life, is not true. There are all different kind of learning disabilities, and just because somebody has one doesn't mean they can't be as successful as someone without one. I think the UK has a long way to go with these issues. The UK is less educated then other countries about learning differences it seems to me.
